Hélio Gracie (Portuguese pronunciation: ['?liu 'g?ejsi]; October 1, 1913 – January 29, 2009) was a Brazilian martial artist who, together with his brother Carlos Gracie, founded the martial art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, known internationally as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu[1] Until his death, Gracie was the only
living 10th degree master of that system, and is widely considered as one of the first sports heroes in Brazilian history; he was named Black Belt magazine's Man of the Year in 1997.[2] He was the father of the world-renowned fighters Rickson Gracie, Royler Gracie, Royce Gracie, Relson Gracie, and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Co-founder Rorion Gracie. According to one of his most notable opponents, Masahiko Kimura, Gracie held the rank of 6th dan in judo.[3][4][a]

Royce Gracie born December 12, 1966) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist, a UFC Hall of Famer and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu[1][2] practitioner. A legend and pioneer in the sport of mixed martial arts, he is widely considered to be the most influential figure in the history of modern MMA.
Gracie gained fame for his domination in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He became known for beating opponents much larger than he was, and between 1993 and 1994, he was the tournament winner of UFC 1, UFC 2, UFC 4, and fought to a draw with Ken Shamrock in the championship match in the Superfight at UFC 5. [3]Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and revolution Gracie popularized ized mixed martial arts with his results contributing to the movement towards grappling and cross-training in the sport.
He holds the most submission victories in UFC history with 11, which he earned between UFC 1 and UFC 4.

Rodrigo is the son of Jiu-Jitsu Grandmaster Reylson Gracie and grandson of one of the founders of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Carlos Gracie.[3] Rodrigo began teaching Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 14 and was awarded the black belt at the age of 18 under his father. He then came to the United States to teach at his father's academy in California. Rodrigo and Royce have started to train together as well as spend a lot of time as a family. He travels conducting seminars all all of "Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Networks".[4]
Gracie has co-written three instructional books on Brazilian jiu-jitsu with author Kid Peligro; “Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No Holds Barred!: Fighting Techniques”,[5]“Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: The Path to the Black Belt”,[6] and “The Complete Guide to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu”.[7]
